Why body temperature is crucial for enzymes activity

Body temperature is important for functioning enzymes. A lower than optimal temperature can cause many health issues simply because certain enzymes didn't activate a biochemical reaction.

Why is optimal body temperature is so important to your health? We’re not lizards, we are endotherms. We need to regulate our body temperature from the inside. Ourphysiological homeostasis, meaning our wellbeing and optimum function, depends on a stable core temperature.

Several organs are involved in this process. The sympathetic nervous system communicates to the hypothalamus by shivering or sweating to signal that the
external temperature is changing so the inside temperature has to adapt.
The hypothalamus then tells the thyroid to respond to the outside temperature
by raising or lowering thyroid hormone levels which increases thermogenesis.
